Default Priority Support

As part of the ongoing push to provide optimal support we have seen an increasing requirement for people to get urgent assistance with issues that are affecting them.

In order to be able to provide that urgent assistance we have generated 3 paid subscription models on our forum site www.dotproject.net/vbulletin for your convenience. (Login to the site - go to your UserCP and refer to Paid Subscriptions for more details). We don't link to there on purpose as you need to be logged in on vbulletin for the link to work.

Selecting any of these paid subscription models will allow you to post a message to a special priority support forum which will then be broadcast straight to the entire development team who have agreed to respond to that request for assistance as the highest dotProject priority that they have. The response time may vary slightly around weekends and in different timezones but the broadcasting of your request means that the entire team is aware of your issue and can ensure that they respond to you above any of their other commitments.

The 3 models available are for a period of access to the priority forum of 5 days, 1 month and 1 year. You can access these paid subscription options via the UserCP (at the top of the vBulletin screen, then select Paid Subscriptions from the Miscellaneous Options at the bottom of the Control Panel menu on the left. You will need a user account and be logged in on vBulletin to access this feature.

Please remember that priority support does not guarantee an IMMEDIATE response. Unfortunately the project does not currently have full-time dedicated support personnel, but if enough people subscribe then we will look at resourcing the forums more intensively.

One sugestion, don't you think would be better to have an option to buy support per issue?

I'm saying that because, for example, if you buy a 5 days support but the issue you are talking about is not solved during this period you will "miss" the "investment".

sorry if I am not clear enough, but english is not my first language.

thanks

Dinho

From my experience on the priority support forum, whenever an issue would not be solved in the forum within the subscribed time, the subscriber would still get:
1) A free extension of time so that the user could have access to the answers given afterwards or,
2) Would get emails with those messages/answers.

Therefore you will never "miss" the "investment".

Thank you for your question and for your interest in dotProjects priority support service.

If I need help with something, should I use this or the marketplace?

6 of 1, half dozen of the other - if it's just a support question, you're happy to pay the amount for the period of time - priority support is probably going to be quicker. The marketplace requires you to post your project, somebody to bid, a bid to be accepted and so on - so it takes a bit longer.

As Pedroa said - we extend in the support forums if you're problem is still outstanding at the point your subscription finishes - just drop me a line via PM and I'll sort it out for you.

--- Just thought I should add that the priority support forum is for Support - if you are wanting changes / additions / work done - then the marketplace is much more appropriate as the support subscription won't pay for extensive changes to the software.

Wouldn't it be better if the link (www.dotproject.net/vbulletin) takes you directly to where to purchase priority support. Now that being said. Where do I go to purchase such support.

I get.

Doczee, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

That's because the link Pedroa provided is to the subscription forum which you can't see unless you have a subscription.

When logged in as yourself - go to UserCP (top left hand corner)

See Miscellaneous at the bottom of the left hand menu

Click on Paid Subscriptions
